Quirky, clean rooms.

Superb staff.
Staff are friendly and service is superb throughout. The entire area is quite historical and many of the staff are able to offer great tips and interesting titbits about local history and best attractions to see.

Excellent restaurant and bar.
The original bar is the heart of the property and provides an excellent atmosphere. Both the bar and award winning restaurant display rustic charm and elegance, both spotlessly clean and up to date, provide excellent meals and service with a speciality in ales and lobster dishes.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No parking onsite.
There is no parking spaces provided directly on the. There is public parking nearby however and is available once a refundable cash deposit has been made. Although nearby, one is still required to walk with luggage.
negative:
Can be noisy at times.
The roadway directly outside the property can sometimes be noisy with passers-by as well as some noise generated from the interior of the pub which spills out onto the road and terrace on busier occasions. Ask for rooms away from the pub or roadway.
negative:
Stairs can be difficult.
Some of the rooms on offer are loft rooms which require negotiating a series of fairly steep stairs, this may be a bit difficult for elderly or movement-impaired guests. Ask for rooms on the ground or the separate cottage.
