About Ca' Bauta
Ca' Bauta is a three-star bed & breakfast. Set in a 14th century former merchant’s mansion, Venice’s Grand Canal is a 15-minute walk away.
Suitably spacious and high ceiling rooms at Ca' Bauta are air conditioned with minibar, LCD TV, free Wi-Fi, safe and desk. Complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer are included in the en-suite bathroom. Upgrades also include a whirlpool, private terrace and Venetian street views.
There are front desk and concierge services, plus luggage storage facilities. Free Wi-Fi extends into many communal areas ... including the comfortable lounges which are lit by attractive chandeliers.
A continental style breakfast is served daily. Alla Strega and Al Mascaron are among the locally based restaurants. Bars include Al Canton and Jazz.
The nearby bus service goes to the railway station and to Marco Polo Airport. The glass works of Murano contrast with the more famous views of the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square.

Opulence still reigns!
This B&B includes spacious communal lounge areas, overhung by exquisite chandeliers and high ceilings. The rooms, themselves, retain features that remind you of its 14th-century origins. That said, it is a very friendly, clean and well-run establishment that can only add to the thrill of visits to Venice.
positive:
Convenient location.
The water bus stop is nearby. This Castello area benefits from not being as busy or frenetic as other, more famous districts. It's easy to get to them though- a 10-minute walk in fact - with the knowledge that you can return to the peace, quiet and comfort of this B&B. Even when the place is full, it's really noticeable just how quiet it is. Perfect.
positive:
Personal service.
Via the owner and members of staff, the level of personal service and attention goes far beyond any reasonable expectation and judging from the comments of other guests, this is a prime reason for return visits. They're very trusting too. You can take drinks from the fridge and pay using the honesty box.

Breakfast is a 'Venetian Blind' spot.
In a B&B of many highlights ... breakfast isn't one of them. The stunning features elsewhere serve to highlight the fact that they've missed a trick with breakfast. It's rather ordinary and overpriced. Maybe best to cast your net wider and try one of the local cafes instead.
negative:
Not time for tea
It's a pity that there are no tea making facilities in the room.

Life in camera.
It's a bit unnerving to find that, in this small B&B, many public areas are covered by security cameras. So, if there's nobody around when you arrive; up they pop, having seen you on the screen. You soon get used to it though and it seems to work well.
