Tourism in Nature The agritourism lodging of Herdade de Vale Côvo was once a hunting ground surrounded by unforgettable Mediterranean forests along the Guadiana River. Nowadays, the restored lodgings have all the comforts of a modern country house: five twin rooms with private bathroom, central heating, and a cosy living room with fireplace for the winter and a swimming-pool with panoramic views for the summer. It is also possible to reach the Guadiana River on foot. Additionally, there is a summer room for playing and relaxing, as well as many other conveniences. The traditional Portuguese decoration is shown in the antique carved wooden furniture and wrought iron. The walls of the house are decorated with naïve art paintings. Breakfast is made with organic foods and it is served in a covered patio in the summer and in the living room by the fireplace in the winter. Meals are served on demand (vegetarian dishes are also available). In the grounds of Herdade de Vale Côvo it is possible to enjoy several activities. One of them is especially appealing since it includes a guided visit with the owner through the plantations, the greenhouse where plants sprout, and the distilling-room.
