Positive Reviews
positive:
Friendly, helpful staff
The front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff have received many positive reviews for their friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service. Thirsty travelers love the coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and lemonade in the lobby.
positive:
Clean, comfortable rooms..
Guests often describe the rooms as spacious, sparkling clean, quiet, and comfortably furnished. Families and groups love the extra privacy and space of the two-room suites, and those with small children appreciate having bathtubs as opposed to the increasingly popular walk-in showers. Guests also like having a ceiling fan in the bedroom as an alternative to air conditioning.
positive:
Convenient location for drivers..
The hotel is near Routes 1, 128, 95, and 93. Though many drivers are annoyed by the one-way traffic around the hotel entrance, which requires them to drive past the hotel and make a u-turn to access the parking lot, they do enjoy the short commute into Salem or downtown Boston. Traveling on to Maine or Rhode Island is also very straightforward. Free parking is a great plus as well.

negative:
Getting old and tired..
Guests often note that the rooms appear to be very "old and tired", with worn, dated furnishings, carpet, and bathroom fixtures. Several also found room for improvement in housekeeping.
negative:
Mixed reviews for the food..
The breakfast and complimentary evening social have received mixed reviews. Guests dissatisfied with the quality or quantity of the food often report heading next door to Sonic.
negative:
Secondhand smoking rooms..
A few guests who had reserved non-smoking rooms were disturbed by cigarette odor, either in their rooms or in the hallways. Others had disappointing experiences at the front desk.
