Negative Reviews
negative:
There’s no restaurant in the hotel.
There is no restaurant at Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon, which could be a bit of a drag. However, the Bar does serve a light menu and you also have room service at your disposal. If those options don’t work for you, you can try La Stazione, located nearby, for Italian fare, or any of the dozens of other restaurants and cafes you’ll find in the neighbourhood.
negative:
The temperature controls are iffy.
The temperature controls don’t work very well in the guest rooms and this is especially true of the air conditioning which barely works at times. If this becomes problematic for you, be sure to alert reception and if the problem persists, which it very well might, ask to be moved to another room.
negative:
There are smoking rooms here.
Not all of the guest rooms are non-smoking and this could be problematic if you don’t imbibe and can’t stand the acrid, stale smell of second-hand smoke. If this is a problem for you, be sure to state your preference for a non-smoking room upon booking, and then again at check-in.
