A great base for sightseers...
Tourists love that the hotel is within walking distance of the Opera, the Louvre, Galleries Lafayette, Sacre Coeur, and many more attractions, though It's also exceptionally convenient to the Metro, with the Grands Boulevards metro station just six minutes away on foot. Guests also like that the surrounding neighbourhood is fairly quiet at night, yet home to several shops and restaurants. Gare du Nord is about 15-20 minutes on foot.
positive:
Cozy, modern rooms with a "boutique" feel...
Many guests are charmed by the older building, particularly by the stunning art deco ceiling in the lobby and bar area. The rooms seem to vary in size but most are described as "cozy," clean, and tastefully decorated.
positive:
Friendly faces at the front desk...
Many guests are pleased to report a warm welcome at the front desk, and those who speak English only have no trouble communicating with the personnel. The breakfast buffet is also widely popular, with a good variety of options including freshly baked croissants.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Slippery when wet...
Some bathrooms have a walk-in shower, others have a freestanding tub with curtain, and guests have found it difficult to avoid wetting the floor while showering in either one.
negative:
Take the stairs if you're in a hurry...
Guests comment that the building's only lift is very small and not very fast, so long waits are not uncommon.
negative:
Be a good neighbour...
Guests have been disappointed by poor sound insulation between rooms and annoyed by the sound of doors slamming down the hall. Street noise is an issue for some in rooms at the front of the hotel.
