Hotel Selen Apartments (Icmeler, Turkey)

Guests stay in either the Selen’s self-catering apartments or at the adjacent hotel. After reading negative reviews, some guests said they were hesitant to book but were relieved to find that their fears were unfounded. They described the apartments as basic but comfortable and good value for the money. They found the staff friendly and helpful and enjoyed the numerous clubs and entertainment nearby and relaxing by the swimming pool or on the beach. Guests were pleased to find that sunbeds were usually available and they enjoyed the food from the poolside snack bar. Many said they would definitely return to the Selen.

The Selen’s location was a plus for most guests who found the apartments convenient for the beach and Icmeler’s shops and restaurants. Guests wanting to explore Marmaris could take a bus from just outside the complex.

Most guests reported that the apartments and hotel were clean and that the towels and bed linen were regularly changed. They generally found the apartments comfortable and suitable to their needs.

Some guests described the Selen apartments as dated and and a bit tired. They reported issues such as broken wardrobe doors, balconies that appeared unsafe, unsanitary cooking utensils and insufficient dishes and cups. Some thought the bathrooms were inadequate and should have had more mirrors and better shower enclosures.

The standard of cleanliness at the Selen was a problem for some guests who complained that floors weren’t swept, glasses and dishes were not properly washed and that there was mould on the ceiling and bathroom fixtures. Other guests reported ant infestations and dingy and gray coloured towels.

The Selen has Wi-Fi in public areas and around the pool, but not in the apartments which guests found inconvenient. Others complained about rude, surly and pushy staff, and fights and rowdy behaviour in the swimming pool
