Positive Reviews
positive:
Expect a warm welcome
Most guests were greeted warmly on their arrival by the owner of the hotel. The greeting was followed by an offer of reportedly delicious homemade scones and tea, which they enjoyed either in the hotel's cosy lounge and library or their beautifully landscaped garden. This really helped get their stay off to an excellent start.
positive:
Old fashioned charm and modern convenience
The hotel is made up of three cottages that date back to the 1600's. The owners have maintained many of the older features well, which gives a beautiful aesthetic. At the same time, it doesn't suffer from a lack of modern amenities, as some older buildings can.
positive:
Expect a good night's sleep
Several reviews noted that the beds and pillows were very comfortable, and said they had a lovely night's rest.
Negative Reviews
negative:
It could be a little cleaner
It should be noted that most guests left exceptional reviews. That said, the one area they tended to mark down a bit was cleanliness of the room and common areas.
negative:
The breakfast selection could be better
Though no one said that the breakfast was bad, and few found it simply average, and complained that there was not a wider selection of foods and beverages.
negative:
Be careful walking around
Though many of the pubs and attractions surrounding the hotel are within an easy walking distance, previous guests noted that there are very few footpaths or sidewalks. Guests were forced to walk on the roads instead, and many noted that at night, those roads can be poorly lit in places.
