Great for golf, Portmeirion and railway.
You, like others who stayed, will find the hotel well-located for golf courses, Portmeirion and the attractions of Porthmadog, with the Welsh Highland & Ffestiniog railways, shopping and the mainline train station all within an easy walk.
positive:
Welcoming staff, good information in reception.

Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms a little small.
Some of Royal Sportsman’s smaller rooms were considered too cramped by a few of those who stayed, so consider upgrading if you are looking for a more space to relax in.
negative:
Soundproofing and showing its age.
A small number of those who stayed said the soundproofing was not the best in their room, and reported being disturbed from exterior and interior sources, while a few other guests considered the decor to be on the dated side, even if the rooms were in good condition.
negative:
No lift access to the top.
Guests say that there is no lift access, so if you are not so mobile or are carting around a lot of luggage, then perhaps enquire about a room lower down.
