Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic sea views and a prime location.
The Royal Duchy is perched up high on the cliffs overlooking the calm waters of Falmouth Bay, and many of the communal areas and private rooms have great sea views. The hotel is also perfectly positioned between the town centre and beach.
positive:
Plenty of premium facilities to enjoy.
If you are looking to get pampered then take advantage of the beauty treatments and massages on offer here. If exercise and relaxation are needed, then take a plunge in the heated indoor pool and ease your muscles in the sauna.
positive:
Excellent level of service from the staff.
All the staff here know exactly what they are doing, from the front doorman welcoming you in to the cleaners tidying up your room each morning. You’ll find it hard to fault the customer service here.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Meals from the restaurant not quite up to scratch.
The restaurant and bar here serve a varied selection of meals and dishes, but you might find that the quality of the food is average and the price too high. There are plenty of restaurants in Falmouth that offer batter value for money.
negative:
Some of the rooms are simply too small.
It’s a bit of a lucky dip at this hotel, because you might get a dud room that has no view and is next to the noisy kitchen. Some double rooms are very small with equally small ensuite bathrooms, so check when you are booking to avoid disappointment.
negative:
Free Wi-Fi doesn’t reach all areas of the hotel.
If you don’t want to be irritated then it’s probably best to avoid trying to connect to the free Wi-Fi here. It often drops out, is very unstable and the signal does not reach all of the rooms.
